The Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure in close collaboration with key stakeholders organized a Validation workshop on the National Cybersecurity Awareness Guide today, 22nd October, 2021 at the NaNA Conference Hall.
The Guide, after it's validation would serve as a reference document and best practice for entities to use during planning, organizing or implementing Cybersecurity or Cybercrime Awareness Raising initiatives.
The initiatives is part of a series of activities of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign 2021, which was funded by UNESCO through The Gambia Commission for UNESCO (NATCOM).
The opening session was presided over by Mr. Sanusi Drammeh, Prinical ICT Officer, MOICI, who is the Focal Person of the Project. The Director of ICT, Mr Amadou Nyang gave the opening statement on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of MOICI. He highlighted the importance of Cybersecurity and its relation to Digital Transformation. Encouraging stakeholders to take part in helping raise awareness on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime matters.
The Guide was developed by a Team of Stakeholders constituted to lead and implement the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign 2021. The Team of Stakeholders consist of the Office of The National Security Adviser (ONS), The Gambia Police Force (GPF), The Department of Information Services (DOIS), The Gambia Cybersecurity Alliance (GCSA), Gambia Computer Security Incident Response Team (gmCSIRT), Information Technology Association of The Gambia (ITAG), and MOICI.
