MOICI and its stakeholders held the 6th and first ever virtual National Internet Governance Forum (IGF)

The Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure in colobration with its stakeholders held the 6th and first ever virtual National Internet Governance Forum (IGF), with the theme "Digital Inclusion in The Gambia in times of COVID-19".

The two day forum supported by the United Nations Development Programe (UNDP), will bring together relevants stakeholders to discuss publicy policy issues related to internet governance.

In his opening statement, the Minister of Information and Communication Infractructure, Hon Ebrima Sillah reiterate on the Ministry's commitment to the country's Digital Transformation Agenda in line with the National Development Plan and the National ICT for Development Policy (2018-2028). He continued that the Government of the Gambia recognises the importance of ICT in the socio-economic development of the country and is working tirelessly to attain this.

He commended the National IGF Committee of The Gambia for its dedication and hardwork in putting together such a multi-stakeholder event and further emphised on the Ministry's goal to make sure Internet Governance is fully entrenched in all sectors of the Gambia economy before declearing the Forum open.
